Sir,
In reply to your despatch No. 192 of 11 Aug, last I have the honour to inform you that I have selected Corporal T. Holmes, late of Medical Staff Corps for appointment as Hospital Warder in the Sai Ying Pun Hospital, Hong Kong.
The Crown Agents will be desired to provide him, on his signing the usual agreement, with a free passage to the Colony by the first convenient steamer, and to pay his appointment £5 due to him as bounty.
You will be good enough to give him a formal letter of appointment when he arrives in the Colony, stating that you appoint him on the conditions embodied in correspondence with this Department, copies of which are enclosed.
I have the honour to be,
Sir,
Your most obedient humble Servant,
The Officer administering the Government of Hongkong
